Nine arrested in Durham drug probe

Durham County sheriff’s investigators arrested nine people in connection with a four-month narcotics investigation.

In a news release issued Sunday, the sheriff’s office says the nine suspects were arrested on numerous drug and weapon-related charges. Most of the individuals arrested either lived in, or frequented, the Walltown neighborhood of north Durham, according to authorities.

The release says two illegal firearms, two vehicles, one gram of heroin, 43 grams of crack cocaine, 20 grams of marijuana and nearly $4,000 were seized.

Those arrested include Jerry Lamont Powell, 30, Rosewood Circle; Caleb Cornelius Green, 32, of Grouse Court; Reginald Dale Cadlett, 29, of Chalk Level Road; Salaam Muhammad Adams III, 19, of Guess Road; Brian Jones, 30, of Englewood Avenue; Shaking Fisher, 33, of North Duke Street; John Benjamin Liles III, 42, of Artis Lane; Quinton Tyrell Lester, 24, of Berkley Street; and John Marcus Tarver, 23, of Ashe Street.
