RALEIGH — A former youth director at the Raleigh Chinese Christian Church in Cary pleaded guilty Monday to felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Jerrod Don McCabe, 35, received 36 months of probation and a suspended sentence of six to 17 months. He must enter into the state’s sexual offender control program or an equivalent one in Alabama, and he cannot come into contact with a child under 16 without an adult present, court records show.

McCabe was arrested in March and charged with 20 counts of child pornography. According to arrest warrants, McCabe was in possession of images that featured girls between 4 and 7 years old. The Cyber Crimes Unit of the Cary Police Department launched an investigation of McCabe in the past couple months when they determined he was downloading child porn, according to Captain Michael Williams.
