One woman has died in a hit-and-run accident at Lawson and Alston avenues in Durham early Sunday, authorities at Duke University hospital confirmed.

Angela Gray died Sunday night. No further information has been released about Gray. She was one of two people in the vehicle that was hit in an accident that took place just after 3 a.m. The driver, Takieya Sessoms, suffered a broken hand and was treated and released from Duke.

Durham police have arrested the man who they believe is responsible for the accident.

Miguel Cruz-Castillo, 23, was arrested and charged with a DWI and felony hit and run, according to Kammie Michael, Durham police spokeswoman. His bond has been set at $25,000.

Police have not reported whether his charges will be changed due to the death.
