The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning.

At 2:11 a.m., the victim was fatally shot in the 1300 block of Scout Drive. No other details, including the gender or approximate age of the victim, were immediately available while officers work to identify the people involved. Scout Drive is between Forest Hills Park and N.C. Central University near South Roxboro Street.

The department asks people with information about this case to call CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash for information leading to arrests in felony cases. Callers won't have to identify themselves.
