Starting Tuesday morning, a public safety project will shut down part of Ten Ten Road for two weeks, according to a North Carolina Department of Transportation release.
Weather permitting, crews will improve roadway alignment by flattening out two curves on the 0.3-mile stretch from South Mountain Drive to Cary Lee Road for the $463,594 project.
A 3.2-mile signed detour will be set up. Westbound traffic will turn left on Old Stage Road, right on Banks Road, and right onto Fannie Brown Road back to Ten Ten; eastbound travelers will take the same route in reverse.
