Duke to play defending champion Kentucky, Ohio State in men’s basketball

Published: June 19, 2012

Duke’s non-conference basketball schedule has a Final Four flavor.

The Blue Devils will face defending NCAAA champion Kentucky, Final Four participant Ohio State, and potentially Louisville, which lost to Kentucky in the Final Four.

Duke will play Kentucky at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. It will host Ohio State on Nov. 28 as part of the annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge, just after the possible matchup against Louisville in Battle 4 Atlantis tournament from Nov. 22-24 in the Bahamas. That eight-team tournament also includes Missouri, the other No. 2 seed upset in the first round of March’s NCAA Tournament.

The Blue Devils also will play neutral-site games against NCAA Tournament participants Temple on Dec. 8 and Davidson on Jan. 2.

Duke will release its ACC opponents Thursday. The league will release the full schedule, with dates, in late August.
