Shannon Lee Haeck’s blood alcohol tested at 0.13, according to police; the legal limit in North Carolina is .08.
Police said Haeck, 33, was traveling on a Mellow Field Drive, near Six Forks Road and Atlantic Avenue, after 3 a.m. at 40 mph at impact according to a police wreck report estimate. The road in front of the Manor Six Forks complex has a limit of 25 mph.
Her 2006 Jeep Commander drifted left as it was traveling northeast. She sideswiped four different vehicles parallel-parked on the left side of the road no more than 1,000 feet from her Moratuck Drive apartment. The car came to rest with major front end damage after striking the rear of a 2000 Ford Explorer, according to the report. The Explorer, lurching forward, also damaged the SUV in front of it.
The Raleigh Fire Department did not immediately return calls regarding Haeck’s employment status.
