CHAPEL HILL — A 21-year-old Chapel Hill man was charged with exposing himself in March, and may be a suspect in other indecent exposure incidents at Meadowmont Village, police reported.
“The case was an ongoing investigation and at the end of June we had established enough evidence to make an arrest,” said Sgt. Josh Mecimore, spokesman for Chapel Hill police.
Adalberto Alejandro Pacheco, of 104 Melville Loop, Apt. 1, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge Wednesday for the March 15 incident, but there were multiple indecent exposure incidents reported in Meadowmont within a span of a few months, Mecimore said.
“It is possible he is related to the other three reported in the residential area,” Mecimore said. “But we only had enough evidence to arrest him for the one.”
In the March 15 incident, it was reported that a man drove up to another vehicle, started a conversation, exposed himself and started masturbating.
Mecimore said the other indecent exposure incidents that were reported involved similar details.
Pacheco was being held in Orange County jail under $3,000 bail. He was released Thursday morning, Mecimore said.
