RALEIGH — A month to the day after a woman was shot in the leg during a dispute between two men on Hoke Street, police arrested a Goldsboro man they had been seeking and charged him with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Tavares Mondero Allen, 20, was arrested at his home at 403 Lime St. in Goldsboro, according to Wake County arrest records. In an arrest warrant, police charged that Allen had wounded Michelle Edwards and tried to kill Akiel Daniels.
Police said the incident, which happened on the street in the 500 block of Hoke Street on May 29, resulted from an argument between Allen and Daniels about a woman. Edwards was not the woman, but she was present. Officers said they think Allen tried to shoot Daniels but hit Edwards in the leg.
Allen was brought to Wake County and was ordered held on a $200,000 bond.
