Wake County Sheriffs have arrested two Raleigh teens for attempted murder in connection with a June 21 armed robbery and shooting at the Hardee’s Food Mart on Penny Road in the Swift Creek Community.

Traveon Shaquille Martin and Quamaine Deshawn Carmichael, both 18, were each charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon – listed in each of their arrest warrants as a silver pistol – and attempted murder of the store clerk. Charges also included conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of stolen property, according to the warrants.

The two allegedly stole a bank bag containing $1,800 from the gas station at 6100 Penny Road, which has a Raleigh address but sits outside city limits.

The warrants did not indicate whether it was Martin or Carmichael who shot the employee. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Phyllis Stephens declined to elaborate on the shooting citing an ongoing investigation.
