The state highway patrol reports that a Cary man died early Wednesday morning after driving his car into Jordan Lake.

Trooper Greg Ingram identified the victim as Anthony Thomas Fico, 21, of 117 Milley Brook Court.

Ingram said Fico was driving his 2012 Ford Mustang west along Martha's Chapel Road. When Fico approached the T-shaped intersection with Farrington Point Road, Ingram said Fico failed to turn right or left, instead driving straight into the guardrail and going airborne into the lake.

Authorities got the call about the incident at about 12:50 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities have since recovered Fico's body and car from the lake.
