The Canes have re-signed forward Chris Terry, who led the Charlotte Checkers in scoring last season, to a two-year, two-way contract.
The deal will pay Terry, 23, $525,000 at the NHL level, or $90,000 at the American Hockey League level, with a guarantee of $105,000. In the second year, he will receive $525,000 in the NHL or $105,000 in the AHL.
Terry completed his third full professional season in 2011-12, leading the Checkers in assists (43) and points (59) in 74 games. He tied for seventh in the AHL with a career-high 43 assists, and tied for fourth with 26 power-play assists.
