DURHAM — Police said Friday that they want the public’s help in finding Breon Jerrard Beatty, whom they have issued arrest warrants in two incidents in which shots were fired at the Palm Park apartments in North Durham off Broad Street.
Shots were fired in a courtyard at 2112 Broad St. on July 4 and 10, police said. Two men were charged Thursday.
Beatty, 23, of 2526 N. Roxboro St., faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a weapon into occupied property, going armed to the terror of the public and firing a gun inside city limits.
The men arrested Thursday were George Jamal McFadden Jr., 22, of 2112 Board St. and David Cortez McMillan, 20, of 2306 Lednum St. on the opposite side of the apartment complex.
McFadden was charged with firearm possession by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen gun, shooting a gun inside city limits, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and robbery with a dangerous weapon. The last charge is from a different incident June 8, police said.
McMillan was arrested on charges of felony assault on a child under 12, shooting a gun into occupied property, going armed to the terror of the public and shooting inside city limits.
