Fracking veto

Kudos to Gov. Beverly Perdue for the courage to veto legislation paving the way for fracking in North Carolina. I believe there is too much at risk for too little gain, and I appreciate the governor’s attention to facts, caution and public opinion.

Water is a premium resource for North Carolina citizens, particularly during the frequent summer droughts. That, and the additional unknown risks associated with fracking, is enough to convince most responsible citizens that pursuing a controversial drilling process is not good business.
