Raymond Felton is returning to New York, calling into question whether the Knicks plan to re-sign point guard Jeremy Lin.

Felton’s agent confirmed a Yahoo Sports report late Saturday that Felton would be signed and traded by Portland to New York.

Lin signed an offer sheet with the Houston Rockets worth about $25 million for three years, and the Knicks have until 11:59 p.m. EDT Tuesday to match. But with the third year of the deal worth about $15 million, they could pass after signing Jason Kidd and getting Felton.

Felton, a former Charlotte Bobcats star, played well in half a season in New York, averaging 17.1 points before being sent to Denver in the Carmelo Anthony deal. He struggled last season with the Trail Blazers, scoring 11.4 points per game.

• Kidd was arrested on a drunken-driving charge after police said he crashed his 2010 Cadillac Escalade into a telephone pole in the Hamptons. He was arraigned on a misdemeanor driving-while-intoxicated charge and released without bail, Southampton Town police said.

Elsewhere

Cleveland: Kyrie Irving, the NBA’s reigning rookie of the year after a season at Duke, broke his right hand during practice Saturday in Las Vegas. He was to be examined by team doctors Sunday and said he likely will have surgery.

The Cavs said Irving injured his hand slapping the padding on a wall at the team’s practice site.

Minnesota: The Timberwolves submitted a four-year, $46 million offer sheet for restricted free-agent Nicolas Batum. Portland has three days to match the offer or let him leave.

Phoenix: Former North Carolina point guard Kendall Marshall hasn’t signed his rookie contract. That might relate to the Suns signing Eric Gordon to an offer sheet.

He said he’s confident this will be resolved in time for him to play in Tuesday’s summer league game in Las Vegas. Rick Bonnell
