— Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a man that robbed the State Employees Credit Union at 1131 Slater Road on Tuesday.

The bank robber was a black male in his 20s who stood about 6-foot-1-inch tall. He was wearing dark clothing and a mask, and his hair was styled in short dreads or twists, according to a Durham police news release.

Armed with a long gun held like a pistol, he entered the bank shortly after 8:30 a.m. and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a light-colored SUV driven by a white male.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 919-560-4415, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that help solve cases.

Also, the North Carolina Bankers Association offers a reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of anyone responsible for robbing a bank or savings institution in North Carolina.
