Wake County Sheriff deputies arrested John Kevin Lathan of Zebulon on three charges of sexual crimes with a child Monday.

Officials charged Lathan, 29, with one count of sexual offense with a child under the age of 13 and two counts of indecent liberties with a child. The date range of the offense on the arrest warrant ranges from November of 2011 to July 18 of this year.

According to his arrest record, Lathan was also arrested in May 2001 in Wake County for an attempted first degree statutory sexual offense and indecent liberties with a child. The case was dismissed without leave by the district attorney, which means evidence from that case was left on file in the event prosecutors wanted to re-file charges.

Lathan is being held on $150,000 bond at Wake County Detention Center.
