From staff reportsAugust 3, 2012

— Authorities found a woman’s body in the lake at the city’s Shelley Lake Park on Friday, ending a search that had begun earlier in the afternoon after she was reported missing.

The woman was identified as Vinitia Helana Bridges, 32, of Raleigh, according to Raleigh police spokesperson Jim Sughrue.

Police said the investigation hasn’t produced any evidence of foul play but, following standard procedure, an autopsy will be conducted.

The body was found in the park, which is off North Hills Drive and West Millbrook Road.

Police closed the park as they searched.
