KNIGHTDALE — Police charged that a 31-year-old man who is listed as the owner of a delicatessen had more than 3 pounds of marijuana with him when they stopped his BMW 754i about 6 p.m. Friday.
Sang Thanh Nguyen of 802 Widewaters Parkway, Knightdale, was stopped at Lynnwood Road and Interstate 540, according to an arrest report. Police said in an arrest warrant that he had 1.434 kilograms of marijuana, which is equivalent to 3.16 pounds.
Officers charged Nguyen with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and with maintaining the car as a place from which to do so.
On the arrest report, police listed Nguyen as the owner of a business called NYC Deli. A business called NYC Deli Inc. was created in April, according to online records kept by the Secretary of State.
The company’s offices are listed as being at Nguyen’s home, and the corporate agent is an accountant in Morrisville. There does not appear to be any telephone listing for the business, however.
Nguyen’s bond was set at $10,000.
