IED claims life of Fort Bragg soldier

— Staff Sgt. Eric S. Holman, 39, a member of an ordnance unit assigned to Fort Bragg, died in Afghanistan this week from wounds caused by an improvised explosive device, the Pentagon announced Friday.

Holman, whose hometown was Evans City, Pa., died Wednesday in Ghazni province, the announcement said.

He was assigned to the 192nd Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group, 20th Support Command at Fort Bragg.
