DURHAM — The assistant manager of a Blockbuster store was seriously hurt outside the store Saturday when a gunman shot him and stole a bank deposit bag, police said.
The robbery happened about 9:30 a.m. in a parking lot in front of the store at 3500 N. Duke St., they said.
The man was getting into his car when the robbery happened, police said. Officers arriving at the scene found him shot in the stomach and wrist.
There was no immediate information on the robber. The manager was taken to Duke Hospital.
