Man charged in two gunpoint robberies in Raleigh

Published: August 31, 2012

— Detectives have charged a man with two armed robberies, one at a gas station last month and one of a man on Monday.

Manny Piersaul, 21, was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. Police could find no permanent address for Piersaul, who was ordered held in lieu $350,000 bail.

According to arrest warrants, police think Piersaul used a silver handgun to hold up the Cadeau gas station at 1700 New Bern Ave. on July 26, taking an undisclosed amount of cash. He is also charged with taking $300 from another man Monday by threatening to use a silver handgun.

The two counts of illegal possession of the handgun stem from Piersaul’s conviction in April 2010 for robbery. He served 19 months in prison for that crime.

According to state prison records, Piersaul was convicted in 2006 for felony breaking and entering and larceny and in 2007 for possession of a firearm by a felon.
