A Norlina man was killed Tuesday night when a car struck him while he was sitting in the roadway on U.S. 1, the state Highway Patrol said.
Julius Irving Crosson, 29, was in the road about a tenth of a mile north of town when a northbound car struck him, troopers said.
The accident happened about 10:30 p.m., they said.
The troopers accident report did not indicate if they had been able to determine what led Crosson to be sitting in the road.
