DURHAM — Police have charged a man with robbing a SunTrust Bank on North Corcoran Street this morning.

Police arrested Joe Lee Adams, 55, of Durham in the 1300 block of Hudson Avenue. Adams was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said Adams entered the bank at 111 N. Corcoran St. shortly after 9 a.m. and handed a note to a teller demanding money. He implied he had a gun, but no weapon was seen, police said.

He left with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police released a description of the man this morning and arrested him shortly after 1:30 p.m.
