RALEIGH — An assistant principal at Athens Drive High School was injured by a collision with a plate glass window during a lunchroom fight on Sept. 11.
The school official was attempting to break up a scuffle between students when he hit the window, according to Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue.
Sughrue did not know whether the assistant principal was thrown or accidentally fell into the window, and the spokesman did not yet know the assistant principal's name.
"I do know that the window broke and the assistant principal received some cuts and was going to be transported for medical attention, but his injuries were not thought to be serious or life threatening," Sughrue said.
The department is investigating the fight and has not announced any related charges or arrests, he said.
