RALEIGH — An accident shortly before 5 this morning forced police to close the northbound side of Capital Boulevard at Highwoods Boulevard, just north of Interstate 440, posing problems for the morning commute. Part of southbound Capital Boulevard is also closed.

Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said there were no serious injuries, but damage to utility lines complicated the accident, and the closure was expected to last throughout the commuting period.
