Cary’s Sean Romeo is one of 20 North American goalies named to NHL Central Scouting’s watch list for the 2013 draft.
Romeo, who is playing junior hockey this season for the Youngstown Phantoms of the U.S. Hockey League, is one of nine ‘C’ goaltenders on
the list. There are also one ‘A’ goalie and 10 ‘B’ goalies, along with 13 in Europe.
The product of the Junior Hurricanes program is now among the candidates to be the first locally produced player selected in the NHL
draft, along with Cary defenseman Charlie Pelnik, who is also eligible in 2013. Pelnik has committed to North Dakota and is playing in the USHL this season.
