RALEIGH — One woman was killed and another injured in a crash on Glenwood Avenue on Wednesday night, police said.
Police say Stephanie Anne Smith was driving a Toyota SUV eastbound on Glenwood when she crossed the median into the westbound lanes near Ebenezer Church Road, hitting another Toyota SUV coming the other way.
The driver of the second SUV, Lidia Del Valle Armeniakos, 56, was taken to Duke University Hospital, where she later died.
Smith, 26, was taken to WakeMed with nonlife-threatening injuries. Police charged her with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, but say their investigation is not complete.
The accident took place about 10:25 p.m.
