RALEIGH — Police are trying to locate a man who attempted to rob a truck driver at gunpoint at the McDonald’s restaurant on Wake Forest Road.
According to Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue, shortly before 3 a.m., a surveillance camera showed a man driving a mid-1990s Chevrolet Caprice into the parking lot of the McDonald’s restaurant at 2801 Wake Forest Road.
The truck’s driver was making a delivery to the restaurant when the suspect forced him into the restaurant at gunpoint and announced a robbery. He fled, however, before taking any cash.
The man has been described as black and in his 20s to 30s. He stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs between 165 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark trousers, a dark colored zip-up fleece jacket with gray shoulders, and a NY Yankees baseball cap, Sughrue said. There were no other distinguishing characteristics provided such as facial hair or hairstyle or tattoos.
The Chevrolet he was driving is painted in a two-tone fashion, with a light color over a dark color. It has after-market rims.
