RALEIGH — Police closed Garner Road a short distance south of Interstate 40 on Tuesday morning while crash investigators determined what led to a pedestrian being hit by a car near Chris Street. The road was later reopened to traffic.
Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said the teenage girl had serious but not life-threatening injuries. She was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh.
The accident happened about 6:30 a.m.
