RALEIGH — Police arrested a 17-year-old student at Heritage High School on Forestville Road on Tuesday and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury in an incident in which a juvenile was shot with a BB rifle.
Police charged Kouren Rodney Thomas. His home is listed on an arrest warrant as 3835 Brentwood Road and on an online arrest report as 8840 Wadford Drive.
Police arrested him at Heritage at about 2:30 p.m. It was unclear whether the incident occurred at the school or elsewhere. Police also did not state how seriously the person who was shot was injured.
The victim was identified only by initials, and no age was given.
Thomas’ bond was set at $50,000, and he was free Wednesday, according to Wake County Jail information.
