Shrine Bowl N.C. roster

Garner coach Nelson Smith will have at least one familiar face on his sideline in North Carolina’s annual Shrine Bowl matchup against South Carolina.

Garner tight end Tim Thorb was named to the North Carolina roster, along with Durham Hillside standouts Kris Francis and Korrin Wiggins, both of whom have committed to UNC.

Havelock’s A.J. Coplon and Pharoh Cooper, Wilson Hunt’s Lewis Neal, New Bern’s Christian Matau, Northern Nash’s Dequaivs Mann, Roanoke Rapids’ Nazair Jones and Tarboro’s Tyquan Lewis also are part of the 44-player squad.

Kickoff is 1 p.m., Dec. 15 at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
