Twelve students from Raleigh’s City Ballet attended the Cecchetti Council of America’s International Summer School, and seven of them came home with prestigious scholarships.

Through auditions during the two-week school in Michigan, Megan Boericke was named the winner for Level C2.

Hannah Monroe was a first runner-up for Level D, the most advanced classification, and Lauren Monroe was first runner-up for Level C3. Darby Davis was the second runner-up for Level C1.

Receiving honorable mentions were Anna Hood for Level C3 and Stephanie Ferguson and Charlotte Hood for Level C2.

The scholarships allow recipients to return for the 2013 summer program, which includes dance classes on various techniques and a public performance.
