RALEIGH — Police intercepted a man and a woman at the Jones Sausage Road exit of Interstate 40 on Monday and charged both with trafficking in opiates.
According to arrest warrants, Patricia Wheeler Massey delivered a drug called opana to Jason Lawrence Watkins.
Massey, 53, whose arrest warrant lists her last name as Griffis but who is being held under the name Massey, lives at 10 Southgate Drive in Garner.
Watkins, 32, lives at 12404 Shallowford Drive in Raleigh, according to an arrest report.
In the warrants, police charged Massey with having between 4 and 40 grams of an opiate. They charged that Watkins had 5.4 grams in his possession.
They arrested the two at about 1 p.m. Monday, the reports say.
Massey was being held on a $100,000 bond.
Watkins was being held on a bond of $102,800. In addition to the drug-trafficking felony, he faces three misdemeanor charges of failing to appear in court on earlier charges.
