Fall Fasion 2012

The hottest shoe trends for this fall

This season’s shoes offer more comfort, more details and lower heels

FROM STAFF REPORTSOctober 17, 2012

Ankle straps: If you have thicker ankles, aka ‘cankles,’ don’t despair. Think proportion. Thick ankles, thick straps; thinner ankles, thinner straps.

Oxfords: Spectator or captoe, the oxford is versatile; the menswear-inspired look can dress up or down, adding a gamine edge. Tote a pair as your backup shoe for when your stilettos start hurting..

Slippers: Some fashionistas are wearing pajama-like outfits; consider these the equivalent look for your feet. Perfect with jeans and a cable sweater for head-to-toe coziness.

Studs: Spikes and studs might read “biker chick,” yet the detail can be subtle and offer a dose of edgy cool. Let one other piece echo your studded shoe – a purse or jacket – but stop there.

Sporty chic: It’s true, you don’t have to be a teen or 20-something to pull these off. Pair them with skinny jeans and discover a new way to add style to casual attire.
