— Chatham County sheriff’s deputies said Thursday that the woman’s body found along Chicken Bridge Road last week in what has become a homicide case was that of Daphne Forster, 38, of 261 Jim Gilliland Road, Siler City.

Forster’s body was found Oct. 10. Her mother reported her missing the next morning, Maj. Gary Blankenship said.

Police have been treating the case as a homicide. Foster’s body was sent for an autopsy at the state Medical examiner’s office in Chapel Hill, but no cause of death has been disclosed.

She had last been seen the night before her body was discovered. She was then at the Cruizers convenience store in Pittsboro at 10:20 pm.

Blankenship said deputies are still looking for Forster’s blue Chevrolet Cavalier, which carried N.C. license plate number WVY-6036.

Authorities anyone with information about Forster or the car to contact Detective Will Summers at 919 542-2911.
