GARNER — Police on Friday charged a 35-year-old Virginia woman with having sex with a 14-year-old boy.

Investigators obtained arrest warrants charging Lisa Hess of Russell County, Va., with three felony counts of statutory rape and two counts of felony sex offense, Lt. Wayne Moore with the Garner police reported.

Moore said the incidents occurred during the summer. The boy came to Garner from Florida.

“He came up to visit his mother,” Moore said.

Hess is in custody in Virginia awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
