SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Two people died in a wreck between a motorcycle and pickup truck on Buffalo Road, near U.S. Highway 70, in Smithfield Sunday evening.

The motorcyclist and pickup truck driver both died in the wreck around 7:20 p.m., state troopers said. A woman riding on the motorcycle was injured and taken to local hospital.

Troopers said the motorcyclist was traveling with a convoy of bikers from Wake County.
