RALEIGH — Police charged that a 60-year-old Four Oaks resident threatened to use a spear in order to steal another man’s knife.
Joseph Carl Pennell was arrested Monday afternoon on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, a felony, and a misdemeanor assault and battery.
Pennell gave police an address of 64 Oak Park in Four Oaks when he was arrested about 2 p.m.
Police spokeswoman Laura Horrigan said the incident took place in the 3100 block of Stonybrook Drive in an area where there are woods and homeless people sometimes congregate.
Police said in an arrest warrant that Pinnell took a knife worth $30 from the other man.
He was being held at the Wake County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
