WILSON — A multi-vehicle crash closed Interstate 95 at the border between Nash County and Wilson County, state Department of Transportation officials reported.

The crash happened about 9:30 near mile marker 125, officials said. The left lane reopened about an hour later, but DOT expected the right lane to remain closed until early this afternoon.

There was no report on possible injuries.

Southbound drivers slowing down to look at the scene were causing backups, DOT said.
