Staff writerOctober 24, 2012

Zagat is conducting its first-ever survey of the Triangle restaurant scene.

From now until Nov. 30, the public is invited to visit to share their opinions about the restaurants they have visited this past year.

Diners are asked to rate restaurants in three categories: food, decor and service, while also providing the estimated cost of dinner plus drink and tip (for one person). Zagat, whose capsule reviews quote extensively from diners' comments, also asks diners to share any witty comments or descriptions of their experiences.

For those who finalize their votes before Nov. 30, Zagat is offering a free copy of the guide when it is published and a $5 coupon off any Zagat item from Barnes & Noble or

News & Observer is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
