RALEIGH — A 19-year-old city man was being held on $100,000 bond Tuesday pending a court appearance on a charge that he intentionally caused a retinal hemorrhage in his 2-month-old son.
An arrest warrant said Deshawn Lamonte Evans of 8406 Berkshire Village unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did inflict serious bodily injury on the baby.
Evans was arrested Monday afternoon at the police departments Downtown District station on a charge of felony child abuse by a parent through an act that shows a reckless disregard for human life.
