WAKE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

— Police charged Tuesday that a 33-year-old man had committed a sexual offense with a girl during a month-and-a-half period.

Roderick Dean Harris of 210 Serotina Lane in Knightdale was arrested at his home, according to an online arrest report.

He was charged in an arrest warrant with one count of sexual offense with a child and held on a $1 million bond.

There was no indication that Harris’ arrest was related to the arrest about two hours earlier by Wake County sheriff’s deputies of a Wendell Middle School teacher on sex charges involving a child.

According to the arrest warrant, Harris was involved with the child between Sept. 1 and Oct. 15.

The warrant said the offense involved touching the girl.

Harris has string of arrests in 2005 and 2006 on various charges of forgery and credit card theft and served eight months in prison in 2007.
