GARNER — A man was shot and robbed as he shopped Monday evening at the Wilco Hess gas station at 4541 Jones Sausage Road.

Garner police said an unknown male entered the store and opened fire on Jeffrey Murray, 37, of Cold Water Drive.

The suspect wounded Murray, stole his wallet and then ran away on foot.

Murray is recovering from non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
