Dorothy West Hamilton, 91, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, passed away Tuesday. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late E.M. Barbour and Ada Coats Barbour.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Aversboro Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oliver’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks.

Survivors include daughter, Gail W. Currin and husband, Ronnie of Fuquay-Varina; sons, Billy R. West and wife, Karen of Pitman, NJ, Joseph C. West and wife, Peggy of Clayton and Michael S. West, Sr. and wife, Jo-Ann of Garner; sisters, Jean Scott of Smithfield and Margaret Johnson of Williamsburg, VA, as well as 10 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Edward West and Gordon Hamilton; sister, Rosalee Hales; brothers, Rayvond Barbour and Rupert Barbour and a great-grandson, Zachary West.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
