Florence Elizabeth Leahy, 88, passed away gracefully on Tuesday morning, with family by her side.

Florence had many loves - her family, books, animals, and her garden. Those who knew her admired her sense of humor, compassion, hospitality, and wisdom beyond her years. It is fitting that she passed with grace.

She is survived by her children: Maureen Leahy, of Raleigh, Paul Leahy, and wife, Nancy, of Auburn, CA, and Beth Leahy-Fox, of Granville County, NC; grandchildren: Sean, Joel, and wife, Marissa, and Mitchell; great grandchildren: Emma and Ethan.

Florence is predeceased by her husband, Paul, her parents, Mary and Clarence Whitcomb, and seven brothers and sisters.

A memorial mass will take place in the St. Mary's Chapel at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Friday, November 9, at 11:00am.

Donations may be made in Florence's name to a charity of choice.
