State agents add fourth set of drug charges to Garner man’s roster

From staff reportsNovember 9, 2012

— Faisal Tyler Moghadass, 20, had been arrested last week by Garner police on charges that he had a half-pound of marijuana in his car and intended to sell it, and he was being held in the Wake County Detention Center on those counts when state Alcohol Law Enforcement agents from Fayetteville arrived Wednesday with an arrest warrant accusing Moghadass of similar charges from Oct. 27.

The new charges made four times that law enforcement authorities have charged Moghadass with charges related to marijuana and his 2000 Acura with his first name as the vanity registration plate.

The latest charges were contained in a warrant dated Wednesday and charging that Moghadass had 240 grams (.53 pounds) of marijuana on Oct. 27 with the intent to sell or deliver it, did sell or deliver it, conspired with Rashad Akem Woodard to sell it and maintained the Acura as a place to keep or deal drugs.

Garner police had charged Woodard was in the car with Moghadass when they stopped his car on Oct. 30 and charged he had 250 grams of marijuana.

Garner officers charged Woodard with several marijuana-related counts as well. He was released on bond last week, and no charges against him were on file at the Wake County Clerk’s Office.

The arrest warrant for Moghadass, issued by a magistrate Wednesday afternoon, resulted from a joint investigation between ALE agents and Garner police, agents said, and involved activity they had documented during the investigation but had decided not to charge right away so the investigation could con tinue.

Officials added $60,000 to Moghadass’ previous bond, bringing his total to $76,000.

He was scheduled to be in court Thursday to answer the latest charges.

Garner police charged Moghadass, of 606 Nellane Drive in Garner, on Oct. 9 with possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver it and with maintaining a vehicle to keep drugs.

On April 27, Raleigh police charged him with marijuana possession with intent to sell or distribute it, possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle.

Moghadass also was arrested by Raleigh police in April 2010 at Millbrook High School and charged with drug offenses, having a weapon on school property after officers said they found it in his car at the school, and other counts.
