Bob Endersby: Try going positive

Try going positive

When are Republicans going to adopt a positive strategy for winning the White House? Instead of focusing on voting against the other guy, how about really getting behind your own candidate? We all know that this is usually an uphill battle with a sitting president anyway.

I heard one story about a 5-year-old who said he was backing Barack Obama because “the president still had a lot of unfinished work to do.” This is actually the juvenile version of the adult credo of “don’t change horses in mid-stream.” A vote against someone should never supersede the idea that your candidate is simply the better candidate.

The rock-throwing must stop! The president must be credited with at the very least, delivering a good line that his supporters buy into. Sort of reminds me of the Pied Piper, who interestingly enough had quite a following of his own.
