KNIGHTDALE — Multiple power outages are being reported in Knightdale on Saturday evening.

According to Progress Energy, the outages began about 7 p.m. and were expected to be restored by 8:45 p.m.

The blackout covered the old downtown area and was primarily in the southeast corner of the town. Businesses, residences and intersections were without power, and police were directing traffic in some places.

The cause of the outages, nor the exact number of locations without power, were not immediately known.
