Bring them home

I would like to thank The News & Observer for once again including the names of our fallen heroes in the Nov. 4 paper. It is important to give names to the rising numbers of American casualties as we continue our presence in Afghanistan. On Oct. 7 you also printed an article describing a mother's pain as the number of American deaths reached 2,000, after she herself had lost her son in the war.

I will continue to speak out against our continued presence in Afghanistan and urge the American people to get involved. I have started an online petition to send a message to the president and Congress that the people of this country want to start bringing our troops home in the summer of 2013, instead of December 2014.
